Pacific Rim – Chenin Blanc – Josh’s Selection

 December 1, 2020

By  rackhouse

Pale straw in color with floral aromas. Pacific Rim Chenin Blanc is vividly bright with flavors of pear, quince and grapefruit essence. It has a drier style, which closely resembles the Loire Valley style rather than a CA Chenin.

Exceptional single vineyard selections from some of their most prized vineyards in the Columbia and Yakima Valleys, WA. The vines from Hahn Hill Vineyard were planted in 1968 on a south facing slope and they are some of the oldest vines in the Yakima Valley. The juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve a crisp character that enhances rather than dominates vibrant cuisine. There is no oak, no malolactic fermentation or commercial yeast used to create this Chenin Blanc.

Fermented with native yeasts and expertly crafted to portray a true sense of place. Even with a little time in the bottle this Chenin Blanc is still ideal with shellfish, grilled fish, soft cheeses, and various Mediterranean foods.
